Smarthinking Online Tutoring Help Information
Using the service requires the following:

Computer with Internet access: campus network, dial-up, cable modem, DSL, etc.

A computer and web browser that meet the technical requirements.

A bit of practice using the Smarthinking whiteboard tools.

Your campus network (I-NET) username and password.
Using Smarthinking
- Know your Inver Hills CC network (I-NET) username and password; you will use those credentials to gain access to Smarthinking. Your username is the first four letters of your last name plus a four digit number.
- Open the login page (that secure page is on a different website so you may receive a security warning message).
- Enter your campus network (I-NET) username and password.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts to use the various tools and services provided.
- Check out the tutorials and demonstrations on the Smarthinking site to show you how to use the various Smarthinking tools.
Getting Your I-NET Username and Password
All students are provided a campus network (I-NET) username and password. You need to activate your account before you can use it. You can activate your account at http://www.inverhills.edu/accounts. If you need assistance activating your account, you can submit a request using the Student technical help link in the Online Inver Hills area of the college home page.
Getting Help Using the Smarthinking Tools
Refer to the Smarthinking Student Handbook.
The Customer Support section of the Smarthinking site can answer many questions you may have about using the service and help sorting out any technical problems you may experience.
