Volunteerism
Students volunteer to gain experience and acquire skills for future employment, to meet transfer admission requirements, and for personal satisfaction. There are many opportunities to volunteer on campus including: Services for Students with Disabilities, Peer Tutoring, Recreational Activities, and Student Life Committee.
Service Learning
Service learning is a hands-on
approach to learning that blends classroom learning with community service.
You may find that several of your courses include a service learning component.
The opportunities are diverse.
Service Learning is required in the Nursing and
Urban Teacher Programs and is also offered in the following subject areas:
Psychology, Human Services, Spanish, Sociology, Ethics, History, Photography,
Environmental Science and the Paralegal Program.
Note: Some transfer colleges and academic programs require volunteerism or
service learning. See a counselor for more information. |
