Online Tutoring
Inver Hills has partnered with Smartthinking a nationally recognized online
tutoring service. Many subjects are available and tutors for certain
subjects are available 24/7.
Peer Tutoring
Students can receive tutoring for many classes by request. There is no charge. The college hires students who are recommended by faculty and have been successful in the class for which tutoring is needed.
Writing Center
The Writing Center offers students individual tutoring in every phase of the writing process, from generating ideas to drafting and editing a paper. The philosophy of the center is to help students
develop the tools to become better writers in all of their classes. Writing conferences are available by appointment, on a walk-in basis and by e-mail.
Math Center
The Math Center is a comfortable place students can go to work on their math
assignments and get assistance, as needed. In addition, solution manuals are available for all current math classes.
Services for Students with Disabilities
Services for Students with Disabilities certifies eligibility for accommodations and services, determines reasonable accommodations, and coordinates the provision of such accommodations. It provides or arranges for a variety of accommodations including:
note takers, adaptive-testing, taped textbooks, readers, Braille/large print materials, scribes, sing language interpreters, alternative testing, and tape recorders.
Veterans Services
Inver Hills Community College acts as liaison with the Veterans Administration for individuals who wish to utilize veterans educational benefits. Students may apply for educational benefits after being accepted to the college. Students must state the same educational objective in making application both to Inver Hills and the Veterans Administration. They are required to pay the usual fees to the college at the time of registration. The Veterans Administration reimburses individuals on a monthly basis.
