Financial Aid

The Financial Aid Program at Inver Hills Community College provides financial assistance to eligible students whose personal and family resources are insufficient to meet the minimum expense of attending college. Whenever possible the college will attempt to meet a part of each student's financial need through a combination of grants or scholarships, loans and/or employment. Program descriptions and applications are available from the Financial Aid Office.

Aid Based on Financial Need
(Full and half-time students)
Financial need is determined from your own and your family's income and assets. To apply, obtain a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from the Inver Hills Financial Aid Office or apply online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you are eligible for need-based aid, Inver Hills will help you create a financial aid package that may include:

  • Grants (Do not have to be repaid)
  • Loans (Have to be repaid)
  • Work-Study (Part-time jobs on campus)

Financial Aid for Students With Fewer Than Six Credits
If you plan to take fewer than six credits per semester, financial aid may be available. Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information and an application.

Non-Need Based Aid
There are several loan programs available to students at almost any income level. Student must apply for need-based financial aid before applying for these special programs.

Campus Employment
There are employment opportunities on campus. Contact the Financial Aid or Student Employment Office for current openings.

New Monthly Payment Plan
The challenge of paying for college expenses has just gotten a little easier. Inver Hills has a payment plan that allows students to make monthly payments for tuition and fees. Through an agreement with FACTS tuition management company, the payments will be automatically processed each month through the responsible party's bank account. Better yet, it's NOT A LOAN and there is NO INTEREST CHARGED.

The application process takes just a few minutes to complete and payments are set up automatically so there's no extra hassle for you. For further information and a brochure, stop by the Business Office located in the College Center Building at the main campus or call 651-450-8521.
