ENLARGING PDF FILES WITH MS WORD

HOW TO MAKE A PDF FILE PRINT LARGER TEXT/GRAPHICS  (10-07)

  1. In Adobe Acrobat 5.0 (the .pdf file program), click on "Graphics Select Tool" (near top; a dotted-line box with a small square and circle in it). Note: Some .pdf files are locked so no changes can be made.

  2. Go to MS Word and start a blank page. Reset the margins as needed for as small as .23 top and bottom, and .25 left and right.) Then use "Enter" to create two blank lines at the top.

  3. Return to your .pdf file. Hold down your index finger on your mouse to select or "box" the text you want to enlarge.

  4. Use "copy" to copy it to the blank Word page. Copy it to the 2nd (not 1st) blank line.

  5. In Word, click in the text you want to resize so that lines around it (as a big box) are showing. Then point your mouse to any of the tiny black boxes, hold your index finger down, and move your mouse to enlarge the big box and the text within it.

  6. Use Word's left-, center-, and right-justifying tools at the top of the Word window like you would for a title, moving your box left or right. Move your box up or down by adding line spaces at the top or bottom.

Note: If the text in the original .pdf file fills the page left to right, the above technique will work only if you reset your print function in Word to "landscape" (sideways) printing so there is room to expand the print. Use "File"/"Page Setup"/"Landscape."
