A.A.S. in Network Technology and Security

  • A+ Certification: the installation, maintenance, repair, and management of desktop PCs (CNT 2300)
  • Network + Certification: the foundation knowledge and skills of computer networks (CNT 2510)
  • CCNA Certification: Cisco Certified Network Administrator provides the skills needed to manage, configure and troubleshoot network hardware (routers, switches, and related devices) and software (CNT 2510, 2520, 2530, 2540)
  • MCSA Certification: Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator covers the essential skills needed for server and client administration. The degree program includes courses that cover three of the four exams needed for this certification. (CNT 2401, 2410, 2420 plus one additional course)
  • Security + Certification: provides essential knowledge and skills that everyone involved with information networks should possess (CNT 2820)
  • Advanced Network Security (CISSP): is a top industry certification in security. In addition to what you will learn in the course content, work experience is required to earn this sought-after certification. CNT 2815, 2825 and 2530.
  • Cisco Network Security: All degree students will learn the fundamentals of firewalls, perimeter security virtual private networks and other essential security measures to protect networks.
  • Advanced Network Skills: depending on which area of emphasis selected, you will learn advanced skills in information and network security or develop higher level competencies in specific network technologies. (CNT 2610, 2620, 2630, 2640, 2710, 2720)
  • Communication skills: ask any information technology director for the top three competencies needed by employees and communication skills will be on that short list (SPCH course, BUS 2310 or 1119)
  • Customer focus: along with communication ability, this is another essential dimension for excellent performance and career advancement in the networking field. (BUS 2310 or 1119)
