*NEW* Self Hypnosis Training 5 hour workshop (2 sessions) Minimum number of students 12, maximum 30 This is a two week experiential workshop to learn self hypnosis. Because practicing self hypnosis helps you to relax completely, you will immediately reduce your stress. While in hypnosis you can easily imprint your subconscious mind with positive messages. In this workshop you will learn to easily achieve a hypnotic state and to write effective suggestions to achieve a goal. Some common goals of self hypnosis are to relieve test anxiety, improve self-esteem, reduce stress, improve concentration, stop smoking, release excess weight, relieve insomnia, enhance creativity, improve athletic performance, and reduce pain. First Class Meeting: Introductions (find out what each student would like to achieve with this class). Use short guided meditation. Discussion of hypnosis, i.e., benefits, dispelling the myths, physiological reactions to trance state. Discuss goals that people use hypnosis for with corresponding case histories/success stories. Demonstrate how the mind controls the body with arm levitation. After break, trance induction, post hypnotic suggestion for achieving trance for oneself. Post hypnotic suggestion for moving into a deeper trance state with each session. Discussion/ Q & A period about their trance experience. Go over the Guide to Self Hypnosis. Discuss homework. Handouts: Folder containing the Guide to Self Hypnosis, Guidelines for Writing Successful Suggestions, Sample Suggestions, Headache Remedy, Relaxation Exercises Homework: Students are asked to practice their relaxation daily and bring a goal to work on in class for the second meeting. Second Class Meeting: Discussion of homework assignment. Each student is asked how many times they practiced and how it went. This is a great time to clear up any questions about achieving trance. Demonstrate acupressure techniques for relaxation. Discuss how to write successful suggestions and have students write suggestions in class. After break, induce trance using script for attaining goals. Incorporate students’ own suggestions during trance session. Answer questions following trance. Course Information
