Intermediate ICD-9-CM Diagnostic Coding

This course will expand on the initial workshop of ICD-9-CM Coding. This class is not for beginners. After a brief review of ICD-9-CM Coding, the majority of the time will be with "hands-on" coding practice of assigned problems. Discussion of answers will follow. Prerequisite: Participant needs knowledge of coding with ICD-9-CM gained through the Basic ICD-9-CM Coding workshop or through office experience. Participants will need to bring the 2009 ICD-9-CM Coding manual. Handouts included.

Objective

To expand knowledge of coding practices through completion of coding problems and discussion with participants.
