How Much Time Do You Need in One Week?

      

Questions: How do you spend your time each week?  For each of the numbered lines below, please count how much time you spend on that activity during an average week in a school semester, and à

the total here:

1.      During an average school week, how many hours do you spend each week working at a job (for pay and/or as a volunteer)—for the whole week, total (e.g., 20 hrs. per week):

2.      How many hours do you spend each day on TV/videos/Internet/reading for fun, talking with family/friends, games, and other entertainment:  ______ hrs.  Multiply this times 7 days and write the total here (e.g., 2 hrs./day x 7 = 14 hrs.). à

3.      Do you spend extra hours in a typical weekend (Fri. eve-Sun.) on activities in #2 that you didn’t count there?  How many extra hours beyond your daily average in #2 do you spend?

4.      How many hours do you spend each week commuting from home to work and school and back again, round trip?  Be sure to count all trips both to home and to school, round trip.

Add the numbers in the right-hand column and place your total here:

Next, divide this total by 7 (e.g., 210 hrs./ 7 = 30; 168 hrs./7 = 24):
