Inver Hills Student Success Day—Finish What You Start!

COMPLETE SCHEDULE OF WORKSHOPS 8 am-7 pm

Please register in "HH" ("Heritage Hall") to get
(1) your name badge for getting food and for getting into sessions and
(2) this schedule with room numbers.

Classes on Student Success Day are changed to the events below. 
(Only off-campus, fully-online, and ASAP courses meet as normal.)

(Please note: Most activities are marked by type: Advanced, Arts, Basics, Careers/Depts.,
Class/Times, Clubs, Cultures, Food, Health, Paralegal, Services $mart Money,
and Technology.)

Academic and Career: Drop in 9 am-3 pm & 5-6 pm, 2nd floor CC (above Cafeteria) for help, free lemonade, and cookies.  See also 9 & 11 am sessions.

Clubs: Are you interested in joining a club or other organization at Inver?  Check out the Clubs tables in HH main hall 11 am-1:30 pm and 5-6:00 pm.

EHS “Save a Life! Learn CPR!”—Attend one session or attend all three, 1-5 pm (HH-126). Attend all 3 & become eligible for official CPR certification!

Free Food: Donuts, juice, coffee, 7:30-9:30 am, HH lobby.  Pizza & pop, 11:45 am-12:30 pm, cafeteria, & 5-6 pm, HH lobby.  Popcorn, 10:30 am-1 pm, HH lobby.   Lemonade & cookies, 2nd floor CC bldg. (above cafeteria), 11 am-6 pm.   Candy—11 am-2 pm, Student-Club Display Tables, HH main floor.

Individual Sessions: DAY: 8 am, 9, 10, 11, 12:15 pm, 1, 2, and 3 (a few). EVENING: 5:15, and 6 (a few).  Subjects: basic & advanced skills, careers, disciplines, health, technology, and more.

Keynote Speaker: Listen to Jay Zarr's Keynote Speech at 10 am (LA 210) and 6 pm (HH 203). 
Workshop with him
at 2 pm (HH 203).  Post-keynote talk—meet Jay after the keynote, 11:15 am (LA 212).

Arts Events: See the acclaimed movie Lost Boys of Sudan 3-5 pm in the Green Room (CC 1st fl.).  Listen to “Library Unplugged,” a great acoustical guitar performance by teacher Tony Titus, 3-4 pm (Library).

Nursing: See the special events for nursing people only, under “Nursing,” 11 am & 12:15 pm.

Paralegal: See the bottom of each hour's box for "Paralegal" events 10 am-7 pm.  Hear the Paralegal Keynote Address: Chief Justice Eric Magnuson, Chief of the Supreme Court of Minnesota, 5:30-6:45 pm!

Writing Tutors: Visit a tutor 9 am-4 pm in the Writing Center, 2nd floor Library building, to help you with your papers.

How do your interests relate to your instructor's?  To be successful in this, visit with your instructor.  This session offers tips to manage such visits as well as to bring your interests to class.  The session can help you improve your grades and gather skills useful after college.   It is based in part on biologist John Janovy Jr.'s book Outwitting College Professors.
