Dr. Steven P. Hartlaub Office: Business Building 222 Office Phone: 651-450-3776 E-mail: shartla@inverhills.edu About me: I have been teaching world languages and cultures at Inver Hills Community College since Fall 2001. I teach all levels of French language, French culture (in English), and advise the French club. I am also fluent in Spanish and have lived in France and Spain. I hold a B.A. in French and Economics from the University of Saint Thomas and an M.A. and Ph.D. in French Language and Literature from the University of Iowa.
My approach to teaching language: I constantly focus on making the study of language relevant to the lives of my students. We learn grammar and vocabulary in the process of communicating with one another about our own lives. By having students complete a majority of their grammar exercises on line, I am able to make the classroom experience highly communicative and interactive.
