What do you like most about being a Counselor at IHCC? I love getting to know students and seeing them grow and change as they discover who they are and what they want to do with their lives. As a counselor I get to help & guide students through this process. Tell me a little known fact about you… When I was in college two of my friends and I took a trip to New York |
City and we went to a taping of The Today Show and got to talk to Al Roker! I think he felt sorry for us because the airline lost our luggage and we had been up all night trying to locate it.
If you could give one piece of advice to an incoming IHCC student, what would it be?
Take a risk! Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and stretch yourself a little bit. Whether that means joining a club or student organization, or asking someone from class to hang out, or even enrolling in a class that might be outside of your comfort zone, don’t be afraid to try something new. The most rewarding experiences are those that help you grow.
What is your favorite book?
My favorite classic book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen but my most recently read favorite is Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a small town in southwest MN called Edgerton, population 1100. My parents live on a farm and raise elk as a hobby!

Drink hot chocolate from the comfort of my warm house, safely away from the MN winter!
