What do you like
most about being a Counselor at IHCC? I like the contact with students. I really enjoy getting to know and assisting IHCC students. They all have important choices to make and it is rewarding to help them in that process. Tell me a little known fact about you... I spent several summers as an Outward Bound Instructor. |
If you could give one piece of advice to an incoming IHCC student, what would it be?
Take advantage of the opportunity you have. Actively engage yourself in the learning process, get to know your instructors, and get involved in a campus activity.
What is a defining attitude in your professional career and how does it impact you?
Being willing to learn new information and techniques to keep the job alive, relevant, and fun. It has resulted in remaining fresh in the job over the years.
What are your hobbies?
Running, biking, kayaking, cross-country skiing, reading and movies.
What is your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?
Relax and read or see a movie!
What is your favorite thing to do on a cold snowy day?
Cross-country or downhill skiing.
What is your favorite thing to do on a warm sunny day?
Running, biking or kayaking.
Where did you grow up?
I was born in Minnesota. I then lived in Michigan, South Dakota, and Wisconsin before coming back for high school and college in Minnesota. Then I moved to Ohio for graduate school. These are definitely Midwest roots!
