Ask a Counselor Service

If you are a current IHCC student, your question can be sent to the IHCC Counseling Department by:

  1. reading the essential information below and

  2. submitting a question by clicking on the Ask a Counselor ("Q") link at the bottom of this page.

The Ask a Counselor email is checked regularly when classes are in session.  Every effort will be made to respond within 2 business days.  During the summer, weekends, and over breaks, a reply might take longer.  If you need a quicker response, you may schedule an appointment (651-450-8508) or stop by during the Counseling "walk-in" hours.

To utilize this service you must have a campus network (I-NET) account.  To initialize your account go to www.inverhills.edu/accounts.  For assistance, go to the college's Computer Lab in the Library, 1st floor.

Some questions are too complex to respond to through the "Ask a Counselor" service.  In these situations, you will be asked to set up an appointment with a Counselor.  As a general rule, if your question is a "walk-in" question, it can usually be responded to via the "Ask a Counselor" service.

This is not a personal counseling or e-counseling service.

This communication is considered part of your Student Record.

All questions sent to counseling via this service will be responded to by any of the counselors.  If you wish to communicate with a specific counselor you may make that request in the question or you may contact them directly.  Any requests for a specific counselor may delay the response time.

This service has been designed to protect data privacy by using encryption technology.  The same confidentiality and privacy standards that apply to student information on campus also apply to this service.

This service is new.  Please contact the Counseling web coordinator if you have questions or concerns.

To read the counselor's response, you must either 1) activate the MetNet e-mail account provided to you by the college or 2) return to this page and select the following link.
