BIOL 1120 Exploring Biology

4 credits; 3 classroom hours/week; 2 lab hours/week.

Intended for non-majors interested in an introduction to important biological concepts. This course does not serve as the prerequisite for other biology courses. Topics include ecology, cellular organization and function, basic chemistry, energy for cells, genetics, and evolution. In addition, students will evaluate societal issues and make informed judgments about science-related topics. During lab, students will have an opportunity to gain hands-on knowledge.
