Calls for general information are taken on a daily basis. Please leave a message if you get voice mail. To prepare or receive information regarding GED Classes, please call 651-457-9441. Listed below is information regarding the actual GED Test:

  1. You must pay $75.00 prior to beginning the test.  If an agency is paying for your fee, you must have an authorization in hand or send directly to the GED Testing Center for $95.00.

  1. You MUST bring a Government issued picture identification verifying that you are at least 19 years of age  (i.e., driver’s license, Minnesota ID).  High School ID’s will NOT be accepted. If you are not 19, you must have an approved age waiver from the State of Minnesota.

3.      You will be seated in a designated area for the GED exam.

  1. Materials are not allowed in the testing room, except for your test and answer booklet.  Scratch paper will be provided.  Calculators are allowed on Part I of the Math test, they will be provided.

  1. Do not write in the test booklet.  There will be an extra charge for marks in the test booklet.

  1. You must complete the test you are working on before leaving the testing room.  Test booklets and your answer sheet must be returned to the test proctor.

7.   You must complete the battery of five subject tests.  There will a $15 re-testing fee for each test that you do not pass.  By completing the predicator test or taking GED classes, you can in crease your chances of success.

  1. TALKING is NOT allowed during the exam, except with the test proctor.  If you talk or cheat, the test proctor will take your exam and you will be permanently dismissed from the Inver Hills Testing Center.

All tests are timed.  You will be allotted a specific amount of time to take each test.

Language Arts/Writing                50 questions                   1 hour 15 minutes

Essay                                                                               45 minutes

Language Arts/Reading               40 questions                  1 hour 5 minutes

Math Part I                                 25 questions                  45 minutes

Math Part II                               25 questions                   45 minutes

Science                                      50 questions                   1 hour 20 minutes

Social Studies                             50 questions                  1 hour 10 minutes

 

The GED Test is administered by appointment only.  If you are ready to take the test and want to set up an appointment, call 651-552-6862 on Thursday morning beginning at 8:30 am and leave your name and phone number after the voice mail message.  We will notify you after 9:00 am to set up an appointment for the next week.
